It is widely believed that garlic helps to fight off the common cold … so if you’re feeling feverish, put down the Nyquil and head to Gorikee. Featuring a menu infused with Mediterranean and Asian influences, the main ingredient at this small strip-mall joint is always garlic, garlic, and more garlic. Who knew that this modestly decorated restaurant would decorate its Steak Salad with White Truffle Oil? Or that it would make homemade baked mango yogurt cheesecake (it’s incredible!)? Don’t forget to check out the chalkboard listing the daily specials – almost all with, you guessed it, a garlic base. Filled with health-conscious diners, Warner Center businessmen, and everyone else who knows they’re sleeping on the couch if they order the Crispy Garlic Young Chicken with Ponzu Sauce, Gorikee is a genuine can’t-miss. And to top off the very reasonable prices, if you dine between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., your soup, salad and dessert are all complimentary.
