About
La Fonda restaurant, the home of the Grammy-winning mariachi band Los Camperos, closed last October. Earlier this month, it reopened under new ownership with a lighter, brighter look; a menu of gourmet Mexican food; and a new house band: Mariachi Monumental de America. Co-owner Damian Useda says that when he heard La Fonda was closing, he knew he had to save it: "I have a lot of memories of that place. We're just modernizing and rejuvenating it for the next three or four generations."
