Times Description

Who needs vowels when you’ve got top-flight steaks and an A-list clientele? With the tagline “not your daddy’s steakhouse,” the ONE Group’s New York transplant STK has said goodbye to antiquated masculine steakhouse stereotypes and hello to a metrosexual dreamland of hip, young meat. The elevated dining room is a study in black and white, with white brick walls, an art installation of tusks, and yawning half moon booths. Step through the fringe into the atrium bar, where the music is pumping and the full dinner menu is also available. You might start with light novelties like foie gras French toast or shrimp rice krispies. There’s plenty of seafood, but the steaks pull rank here. Cuts range from 6 to 26 oz. and couple elegantly with sauces like blue butter or herb béarnaise and sides like sweet corn pudding and parmesan truffle fries. With The Belmont next door, Koi across the street, and Nobu Los Angeles up the block, STK is well positioned to become the epicenter of premier L.A. dining. The arrival of ONE Group’s adjacent Coco de Ville lounge should seal the deal.

TIPS: Your best shot at snagging a reservation is Sunday or Monday night. Thursdays are DJ nights, so be prepared to party.

Had a celebration dinner here. First problem was on arrival where we were asked to wait until our whole party was here. This was simply silly, as at the time we arrived, the restaurant was virtually empty. The table they were saving for us was really a table that could...

Yes I ordered fish at a steakhouse, but I have to say it was GREAT! (my sister ordered steak and raved about that as well.) I was pleasantly surprised to find a hip vibe at a fancy restaurant and a room full of people under the usual steakhouse age of...

The best reasons to go are the music and drinks. Sounds more like a club than a restaurant. The cuts of meat were fair given the prices and the preparing of them was even worse. I ordered medium rare, something I only do at reputable steakhouses. The steak came out...

Having been to steakhouses from NY to Chicago and all over LA, STK delivers on par with the best. Nothing mindblowing but quality meats and sleek interiors make for a fun evening out. One negative is the side seating area which is much less lively than the main eating room....

Great steak, but way to expensive...also more of a glam scene so you better dress up.
