Late-Night Dining: La Cabana to Wokcano
Picks by Elina-Shatkin
Know something we don't?
The Anaya brothers, who own Silver Lake's legendary Caribbean eatery Cha Cha Cha, have opened this shockingly pink taco restaurant with the hope of providing a middle ground between fancy Mexican eateries and down-home street vendors. Vintage Mexican posters and lots of kitschy crafts set the mood. The menu features juicy south-of-the-border standards including al pastor, asada and nopal (cactus) tacos as well as tortas, enchiladas and burritos. Ingredients are of the highest quality, with Angus beef, homemade tortillas, fresh guacamole, and no lard. And yes, the name can be interpreted to mean something fairly naughty, but hey, the place stays open until 3 am Thursday through Saturday in order to satisfy your boozy late-night cravings post-Bar Marmont, Sunset Trocadero, or Mayagi’s.
TIPS: The BYOB invitation is open all day (that Liquor Locker across the street sure is convenient).
