While these restaurants may not be blessed with a Boulevard du Montparnasse address, they are nonetheless charming replicas of a true Parisian bistro, right down to the big red awnings covering their sidewalk patios. Dining rooms are clad in rich wood, their walls bedecked with colorful Toulouse-Lautrec posters and Renoir-esque murals.
Settling down with a glass of Beaujolais at a table smartly dressed in white, it is easy to feel transported to the genuine article on the other side of the Atlantic, if only for a few fleeting moments.
The food here does not interrupt the illusion, as excellent salads, quality pâtès, garlicky escargots, entrecôte with pommes frites, crispy chicken, and marvelous rack of lamb in a whole-grain mustard sauce easily satisfy those longing for authentic bistro cooking. Finish up with a tarte Tatin or pot du chocolate.

I had not been to Le Petit Bistro for ahwile, and I am glad to say that it is as wonderful as I remembered. The shrimp picante remains...
