Know something we don't?
Inside Sunset Boulevard’s Piazza del Sol is Katana, an industry haunt known for both sushi and the house specialty, a type of Japanese charcoal grilling called robata. Owned by the same group as Sushi Roku and BOA Steakhouse, Katana blends elements of both establishments with its sushi and robata bar. Skewers of chicken, Kobe beef, sea bass and shitake mushrooms are easy to share and go well with the restaurant’s extensive sake list. The Dodd Mitchell-designed décor takes its influence from the elements, incorporating stone, iron, and wood furnishings and installations. Diners can choose a table in the open, main dining room or opt for one of the more intimate, cave-like lounges.
TIPS: Can’t settle on the right sake to pair with your robata? Ask the sake sommelier who’s on hand for suggestions.
