Know something we don't?
Thanks to its celebrity investors, Ago attracts a steady stream of industry clientele with its rustic Tuscan cuisine. Backed by bigshots like Robert De Niro and the Weinstein brothers and named for its chef Agostino Sciandri of Toscana fame, Ago has been a celebrity hangout since it opened in 1997. Modeled after a countryside trattoria, the wood paneled interior is crisp and comfortable while the outdoor patio is lined with olive trees and bougainvillea. Popular dishes include Sciandri’s specialty bistecca alla Fiorentina and the pollo alla Toscana. Despite the rustic fare and tranquil patio, don’t expect the type of sedate retreat you’ll find at neighboring Lucques, Taste on Melrose, or even Le Petit Bistro; Ago’s bustling scene makes it the rowdy kid on the block.
TIPS: Thursday is unofficially the “it” night at Ago, making the restaurant an ideal spot to get an early jump on the party spirit of the weekend. If celebrity/people watching is what you are in the mood for, then I would recommend checking this place out. Don't show up without a reservation because the wait could be long only of you are lucky.

An absolute delight - the staff is friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. Try a signature peach martini and kick back & people watch!
