Know something we don't?
Opened in 2004, M+B Gallery has grown into one of West Hollywood's preeminent art galleries, featuring cutting-edge work from artists both famous and emerging. The emphasis here is on photography, with a rigorous exhibition schedule that includes approximately eight solo shows and one group show per year. Beginning in fall 2008, the gallery will expand its palette to include all artistic media. Notable past exhibitions include "Alison Jackson: Confidential," "Rocky Schenck: Los Angeles," "Matthew Pillsbury: Screen Lives" and "Jean-Baptiste Mondino: Guitar Eros."
Visiting
The gallery is located in West Hollywood at 612 N. Almont Dr., near the intersection of Santa Monica Blvd. and Melrose Ave. Hours of operation are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free parking is available in the gallery's driveway, but it only fits three or four cars. You can find limited street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.
Dining and entertainment
There are numerous dining options within walking distance of the gallery. Just west of the gallery on Melrose, you'll find Murano Restaurant, which serves up fancy Italian and French cuisine in a chic setting. Melrose Bar & Grill, located east of the gallery, specializes in upscale American cuisine and seafood. And across Santa Monica Blvd., there's Dan Tana's, a local institution where the steaks are delicious and very expensive.
