If you're in the area, this executive course is the best deal in town. It has just nine holes, but it offers separate tee boxes if you want to go around again. These second tee areas change the difficulty of several holes quite a bit, such as hole No. 9, which plays farther back into a corner than on the former tee.

The layout is basically flat, so you won't find any uneven lies. There are a lot of trees, however, and the greens are small, which will test your accuracy both off the tee and on your approach shots.

There's no water to worry about and only one grass bunker, on hole No. 4. There's also a dogleg fairway in the design on hole No. 7.

The off-course facilities include a chipping and putting green, and you can get a hot dog on weekends. --Dan Arritt
