The Otheroom manages the rare trick of being both an elegant and casual place to enjoy a glass of wine or a pint of beer. Though it has outposts in both New York and Miami, the atmosphere inside is distinctly Southern Californian (e.g. you can wear flip-flops and bring your dog). Food isn’t available in the bar, but they do keep a stack of menus on hand from spots next door and you are welcome to bring in something if you’d like. One of the missions of the Otheroom is to feature the work of local artists on their walls, with most of the pieces available for purchase. The crowds in the evening can sometimes be large, but the space is large enough to accommodate everyone. Late nights, though, can be a bit of a crush. Street parking is available nearby, but stick to the streets on the beach side of Abbot Kinney if possible.
