Know something we don't?
Forrest, Jenny, Mama, and Lieutenant Dan are alive and well at this shrine to cinema’s most famous shrimping duo. Framed stills from the movie, a down-on-the-bayou décor, and music spanning Forrest’s era add to the art-directed feel of the restaurant, down to details like the drink menu, which appears on a ping-pong paddle. Shrimp specials, not surprisingly, dominate the menu. The Shrimper’s Heaven is a catch-all of fried shrimp, tempura shrimp, coconut shrimp, and chilly shrimp. Southern favorites like Bourbon Street mahi mahi, fried chicken, and Dixie-style baby back ribs also make an appearance. Feeling full? Just flip the vintage license plate mounted at the table from “Run Forrest Run” to “Stop Forrest Stop.”
