Know something we don't?
The Alpine Village Inn at Alpine Village can turn even the most jaded diner into a lederhosen-wearing teutonophile--after a few beers, that is. Although this authentic German gem is best known as the home of one of SoCal’s larger Oktoberfest celebrations, the Alpine Inn serves up a mean Bratwurst all year long to a sizeable German population (and curious locals alike). Other specialties at the cavernous, wooden restaurant, seeming straight out of Bavaria, include Sauerbraten (wine-marinated pot roast), Wienerschnitzel and Hasenpfeffer (stewed rabbit). Make sure to stop in the adjacent deli, butcher shop, continental café and fantastic supermarket specializing in German food products while you are there—you could honestly spend an entire afternoon here drinking, shopping and generally enjoying a day in the old country right off the Harbor Freeway. Prost!
