Hidden behind an ivy covered wall, Firefly may be demure on the outside, but this chic bar and restaurant is sensual through and through. Enter through the scarlet bar and make your way toward the “Library Lounge,” where plush rouge couches abut bookshelves stacked with volumes. Candles are everywhere, casting an amber glow. On the covered dining patio, tables surround a central fireplace, while cabanas with privacy curtains are bathed in the light of Moroccan sconces. The focus on flickering flame sets the mood for romance, but it does make it hard to see your food. The farm-to-table-driven modern American menu changes seasonally. Luckily you don’t need any light to read the restroom signs; they’re unisex. Even Hollywood hipsters travel over the hill to catch some of the Firefly glow.
