Munchin' at the Junction

Know something we don't?
Fresh, thoughtfully prepared, upscale-café fare in a prim and proper setting with street-side tables and a friendly wait staff. Town and Country appeals to the Silver Lake art and music crowd as well as professionals and families, all of whom occasionally share a secret desire to live in a rural village. The menu boasts “old-time favorites” such as sloppy Joes and turkey meatloaf (sort of like mom used to make—only hers was beef), as well as traditional breakfast fare like eggs and bacon and buttermilk pancakes. For the adventurous diner, there is salmon or asparagus hash (the hash is potato-and-onion and is topped with eggs and a shallot-dill crème fraiche or vegetarian mushroom gravy).
TIPS: For dessert head next door for farmers market-fresh gelato at bustling Pazzo Gelateria.
