As far as romantic atmosphere goes, the back alley where Lady and the Tramp shared a plate of spaghetti had better ambiance than this Italian joint wedged between a nail salon and a liquor store in a Sunset Boulevard strip mall. But the family-run Aroma has no trouble filling its 10 tables, thanks to its friendly service, dependably tasty and fresh dishes, and generous portions. Anyway, after filling up on crusty bread (which Aroma thoughtfully delivers with softened butter for easier spreading), shrimp scampi in spicy tomato sauce ($21) or linguini with clams ($18), it’s not love you’ll need, but a nap.
TIPS: Make an evening of it and plan your dinner around catching a show at the reliably entertaining indie rock club Silver Lake Lounge, located just across the street.
