Large and cavernous with nearly five separate dining areas and a bar, Barragan’s is decorated in a way that vaguely resembles someone’s grandma’s house. Pastel colors and kitschy paintings abound, and so do hipsters who descend like vultures every Monday night to consume savory soft tacos on the super-cheap. These leg-warmer-wearing armies jealously guard their money-saving secret, but word is slowly spreading, so you have to arrive earlier each week to get a seat.
