Know something we don't?

This once-mighty Silver Lake indie insitution gave birth to Beck and a thousand sloppy hookups, but has lately lost ground to The Echo as the eastside's indie rock venue du jour. The cache of the place is still considerable for striving, skinny-jeaned post-punks climbing the blog-rock totem pole however, and an old-guard vice is still to be found: the aquarium in back plays host to all sorts of wink-nudge chicanery (you'll know what we mean when you walk in there), and the bartenders are minor local celebrities in their own right for their heavy hands. Pre- or post-show libations can be found at the nearby Cha Cha Lounge or Red Lion Tavern, and an okay but overpriced pho can be yours at Gingergrass, but a much better one is at, well, Pho Cafe off Sunset. Watch out if you park along or just off Silver Lake Blvd. nearby, as the 5-0 comes ticketing after 11 p.m. and aren't kidding around.
