If you are looking for a nice, dark spot near Silverlake to hear hip-hop, soul or classics, look no farther than the Little Temple. Once home to the rowdy, grungy Garage, this Melrose night spot has been transformed by the owners of Temple Bar into a holy ground for fans of DJ culture. The best nights here are Thursday-Saturday, and parking is usually easy to come by; look for meters on Virgil or Santa Monica Blvd., which are free after 6 p.m.

Good DJ's nice crowd. Parking can be a problem if you arrive after ten. No valet on weeknights. Will go back but with a larger group.
