About
A bright, garishly modern spot with angular brushed-metal blocks hanging off the walls and ceiling, Yangtze is a pan-Asian restaurant that specializes in sushi as well as Thai and Chinese cuisine. In a nice allusion to the name, the Chinese portion of the menu is broken down into Yangtze River-adjacent provinces with popular dishes from the Sichuan ($8 Kung Pao Chicken), Hubei ($6.95 Chinese broccoli), Hunan ($7.95 beef broccoli), Jiansui (the oddly named $8 Hunan beef), Anhui ($9 egg foo young), and Jaiansu provinces ($7.95 Moo Goo Gai Pan) completing the culinary geography lesson. The real treat, however, is found at the sushi bar at the far eastern end of the restaurant where happy hour—which translates to half off sushi and sashimi—goes all day Sunday through Thursday and until 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The happy deal does not apply to the beer, wine and sake but prices on alcoholic drinks are reasonable as are the glasses of Thai iced tea and coffee. Delivery is free.
