Santino's

A funky, arty tapas-oriented café, deli and beer-and-wine bar, Santino’s is one of a kind: The walls are covered in old wine corks; the hallways and back patio are festooned with colorful graffiti art; the table tops are balanced on old vinters’ barrels; and in lieu of upholstery, the chairs are “bedazzled” with beer bottle caps. The menu, too, has a certain charm, thanks to the uniformly single-digit prices (as low as $3.95 for the kids’ options) and chef-owner Sergio Amata’s Argentinean-style tapas, which augment a variety of Mediterranean salads, deli items and press-toasted Panini sandwiches. With a brief but categorically complete selection of wine, an extensive selection of beers from around the world, along with the usual soda options and espresso drinks, however, Santino’s appears to draw customers as much for the libations as for the food. In addition to catering services, the kitchen does offer takeout and delivery, but the unusual, festive décor and laid-back attitude of both staff and patrons makes the venue itself an enticing repast.
