Through the window of this tiny hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint, God is visible, handing off a taco to Adam á la Michelangelo. Inside, slightly-less-divine cashiers hand off plates of cheap, filling carnitas and wet burritos covered in mole sauce and melted cheese. Along the side wall, a diabolical assortment of hot sauces— including Nuclear Hell and Asbirn— tempt mere mortals. If you’d rather tiptoe where angels fear to tread, sample the few sauces on offer at the condiments table. Should your chest burn with soul-immolating heat, absolve your sins with the soothing balms of non-alcoholic sangria and horchata. Or better yet, bottles of Mexican Coke, the kind made with real cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. Dios mio.
