A mini-bakery and cafe, Grateful Bread makes and bakes a variety of fresh breads and pastries daily, and provides a clean, modern environment in which to eat them—with stainless steel fixtures and Japanese-inspired wooden tables and chairs. The pastries, including croissants, muffins, scones and beignets, go for $.50 to $3.75, and the bread, which includes baguettes, ciabatta rolls, challahs, and multigrain loafs, ranges from $1 to $6. Clearly most popular for its takeout bakery goods, Grateful Bread gives customers reason to linger with a very affordable lunch-oriented menu of soup, salads and sandwiches plus smoothies and coffees. Special orders are welcome 48 hours in advance.
