Most weekends, this place is packed with a waiting list and long line snaking out into the alleyway. They come for the food—largely Greek and European cuisine (eggs florentine, spanakopita, stuffed bell peppers and a mousaka that gets extra points for authentic spices are paired with continental desserts like Neopolitans, eclairs, and apple strudel)—and the atmosphere, tucked away from the street on a diminutive, fountain-adorned, brick courtyard. Inside the even smaller dining room (a country house sensibility similar to your Old World aunt’s) it’s pretty friendly, but if the curtain in front of the corner table is drawn, it likely means you’re being denied a celebrity sighting.
