Bravo Cucina

The worn tile floors, mostly unadorned brick walls and well-used copper pots on display in the open-air kitchen give Bravo Cucina’s dining area a breezy, down-to-earth feel, but make no mistake — this is a high-concept Italian restaurant. Bravo’s motto is “eat love,” and this neo-hippie philosophy colors everything served: The ingredients are certified organic and mostly locally grown, and the bread and pasta products are made from scratch every day. The prices reflect the environmentally conscious approach of the Lepore family owners. Breakfast (eggs, French toast and pancakes) is $7 to $13; lunch (pasta, chicken, fish and hamburgers) is $9 to $17; and dinner (pasta, steaks and seafood) is $18 to “market price.” Empirical research suggests the cost-to-quality ratio is excellent, however. Check the reviews of this Zagat-approved restaurant and your eyes will blur at the repeated use of the word “best.”
