Off-Leash Dog Parks in LA, OC & Beyond!

Know something we don't?
Santa Monica dog parks are notoriously well-policed. As the only large, fenced, off-leash park west of Laurel Canyon, Joslyn Park is watched with an eagle eye. Neighboring residents reportedly complain regularly about the barking and general canine mayhem in the park.
But Joslyn is the jewel in the meager crown of Los Angeles' leash-free parks. It's large enough for an energetic game of chase-the-Chihuahua, there are shovels available for clean-up, the park benches are clean and people seem to enjoy passing the time here with their dogs. But beware, your dog MUST be registered in Santa Monica (at a cost of $15) to enter Joslyn Dog Park. Bringing a non-Santa Monica tagged pup into a dog park here means at least a $50 fine, more if you aren't carrying clean-up materials such as a baggie or scooper. At all times, you must keep your dogs away from the playground and recreation areas. Non-residents can get a license by calling (310) 450-6179. Located at the corner of 7th St. & Kensington Rd.
