Know something we don't?
A Westside institution founded in 1931, Harvelle’s is the place to hear live blues while drowning one’s own blues in surprisingly affordable glasses of beer, wine and liquor: Domestic beers are $4 and imports and microbrews are $5; Trader Joe’s-level wine and champagne runs $5 to $8; and top shelf cocktails such as the Maker’s Mark Manhattan or the Grey Goose Cosmopolitan are under $10. There’s a cover at the door—typically $5 to $10—but considering it buys you a chance to hear first-rate, traditional blues bands in Harvelle’s dark, sexy, red velvet-cloaked environment – and within stumbling distance of the Third Street Promenade – it’s a bargain.
