Though it offers an excellent and extensive selection of craft beers, most people go to Father’s Office to sample its legendary burger. It’s served one way and one way only—dry-aged beef topped with caramelized onions, applewood bacon compote, arugula, Gruyère and Maytag blue cheese. Don’t bother asking for substitutions. You won’t get any. Besides, the burger is perfect as it is.
Father's Office doesn't take reservations, and you have to order at the bar, so wait times can get very long. On the plus side, it'll give you an opportunity to practice your table-poaching technique. Have patience. The burger is worth it, especially when it's accompanied by a side of sweet potato fries and delicious aioli (don't ask for ketchup!). A multitude of tapas plates are also available. The crowd is young and boisterous (UCLA is not far away) and nearby street parking is usually easy to find.
