About
Historical significance: The seventh in the chain of Alta California missions, it was founded by Father Junipero Serra on Nov. 1, 1776 and is known as the birthplace of Orange County. The 10-acre site contains museum rooms devoted to the Native American, Spanish and Mexican periods of the mission's history. Tours: A self-guided tour of the buildings and grounds is included in the admission price.
