About
Montrose’s foodie quotient was upped considerably with the arrival of Three Drunken Goats, a Spanish tapas and wine bar. The unusual name is taken from the restaurant’s signature cheese, the wine-soaked cabra al vino (“drunken goat”). Walls are painted the same cabernet color as the cheese’s rind, and details like lantern-style light fixtures, dark woods, and black-and-white bullfighting pictures recall an Iberian café. Settle in for a selection of over 40 Spanish wines by the glass paired with small plates like bacon-wrapped dates with chorizo, grilled octopus with fingerling potato salad, and artichoke and goat cheese croquettes. Or, opt for larger plates like the ribeye with roasted garlic butter or grilled lamb chops with chickpea cakes and mint. Along with the stylish Café Montrose, Bashan, and The Fat Dog gastropub, Three Drunken Goats is helping to make sleepy Montrose a dining destination.
TIPS: The space doubles as a retail wine shop, so you can stop in for a bottle to go.
