If you’re looking for dinner or drinks in a more relaxed version of Hollywood luxury, The Hall at the Palihouse Holloway hotel is a respite from forced action and attitude. The brasserie serves modern bistro food and the lobby lounge is conducive to a laid-back night on the town. Sink into a leather chair or big couch and absorb the visual feast as you sip a drink and chill with your party. The vintage décor and high ceilings provide novel yet mellow diversions before you proceed to the courtyard brasserie for dinner. The Hall kitchen is now led by Chef Brendan Collins, who comes to Palihouse after an acclaimed tenure at Mélisse and Anisette. Chef Collins’ new menu of market-driven Continental and California dishes includes Arctic Char with grilled eggplant, lamb loin and moules frites with saffron curry. For a different multiculti experience, Wa Sushi & Bistro is around the corner, Italian comfort food awaits at Vivoli Cafe & Trattoria, O Bar is down the road and the Sunset Strip has your nightlife ticket at the House of Blues, Improv, et al.

Tips: Plan to use the valet parking. Unless you like long walks or parking tickets, there is no other alternative. The valet is on a driveway on the north side of Holloway just east of La Cienega (west of the actual hotel). If you’re turning onto Holloway from La Cienega, don’t blink or you’ll miss it.
