Part of the ever-increasing roster of shops and restaurants changing the face of Eagle Rock, Spitz specializes in the fruits of the doner kabob, a slow-roasting and rotating, well, spit, that produces thinly sliced seasoned beef or chicken for lavash wraps, panini sandwiches or -- for those who just can't decide -- tasty combo plates where the seasoned meat is served atop a bed of salad and seasoned french fries and slathered with spicy sauce and feta cheese. Falafel is also available for the vegetarian-inclined, and a gelato bar at the front counter does brisk business night after night. Be forewarned, however: The restaurant's lot is more for aesthetic value than anything since only two spots are available, so you might as well stake something out on Colorado Boulevard as you pull up. The perils of success.
