Poquito Mas

With the Actor’s Studio just across the street, so many producers/actors/assorted mid-level studio execs frequent this branch of the popular fresh Mexican fast-food joint that it has even named a dish for them: The Studio Plate--good grilled chicken breast served over rice and beans, with tortillas, sour cream and plenty of salsa. All the food is good here--fresh, tasty and simply prepared. The shrimp tacos and fish tacos are healthy and cheap, the burritos huge. There is an outdoor patio that looks out on Sunset Boulevard. If you come during lunch hour, be prepared to wait. Pinches Tacos just down the strip may be more stylish and more authentic, but if you’re craving a gringo-pleasing wet burrito or crunchy tostada, Poquito Mas is the place. With The Pita Pit, La Crepe, and Yatai nearby, Poquito Mas fits right in with the trend of multicultural portable cuisine in these parts.

TIPS: If you pay a visit to the salsa bar, make sure to ask for an extra glass or two (or three) of water with your order.
