Oomasa

Little Tokyo is filled with competent, enjoyable smaller restaurants like Oomasa. This one, which is right of the main walkway of the Japanese Village Plaza, doesn't distinguish itself from many of the others -- but it won't do you wrong, either. The menu of lunch specials includes sushi, sashimi and teriyaki items that can be ordered in convenient combinations and rolls such as the Spider Roll (soft-shell crab, cucumber and sprouts) or the Rainbow Roll (a host of fish over a California roll). Go with a reasonably priced combo at Oomasa -- it probably won't change your sushi world, but it will fill you up without breaking the bank.
