Nestled in a small street off Santa Monica Boulevard is Marix, home of magnificent margaritas and not-too-shabby Mexican food. Margaritas by the pitcher come in three forms: original, fruit and kick ass. The mojito and other specialty margaritas are also notable, but the pitcher is the best deal. The menu consists of reasonably priced Tex-Mex dishes including carne asada emborrachada and sizzling fajitas. Along with a daily Happy Hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Marix also hosts Taco Tuesdays, which offers all-you-can-eat tacos for $7.95, and Margarita Mondays, when margaritas are $3.
