This well-known SoCal chain offers up chicken dishes, home-style-cooked green beans, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese and more to working professionals in a hurry a la Boston Market. Some call it fast food, but just because it's ready to-go in a jiffy, doesn't mean it's bad for you at Koo Koo Roo.
In fact, the fish here (usually salmon) rivals what you'd pay $20 for at several overpriced eateries in town (no tip required here as well, for the budget minded Angeleno in a rush).
Koo Koo Roo may be known for its fresh chicken and turkey, but we really like the veggies here (especially their creamed spinach and saffron rice). And of course, the gooey Mac & Cheese. For fast food, you could do much worse in L.A. If you are dining in at any of their locations, don't expect much ambiance. But for those who want dinner for the family in four minutes flat in a big bag to go, you have found your new favorite restaurant.
