About
Every day is Cinco de Mayo at El Conquistador, and although that might sound like fun in theory, in practice it has left many a formerly happy reveler with a tragically aching head and a queasy belly. That’s not to say that El Conquistador isn’t fun and delicious, because it’s both. It’s just that the margaritas are giant and super-full of a deadly agave-based substance known as tequila. In other news, El Conquistador’s combo plates are melty-cheese delicious, especially the ranchero enchiladas. Also, if the signature carrot soup is ever available on the special’s board be sure to snap it up. The decor is fun and colorful, with lots of tissue-paper cut outs, authetic Mexican tile and lush green hanging foliage.
TIPS: It's always a party in the upstairs bar, which is where large and loud groups are usually accomodated. If you want peace and quiet the covered front patio is the way to go. For nearby Mexican fare without the party and the pricetag check out Tacos Delta.
