Cow’s End is the perfect definition of a neighborhood joint. If you see someone getting an organic coffee there one week, you’ll probably see that same person doing the same thing every week thereafter. Unlike many places that like to shoo customers out once they’re done eating or drinking, Cow’s End encourages leisurely lingering. Often you’ll see crowds of people with their dogs sitting at the outdoor tables for hours. Inside, there’s pool, darts and television to occupy your time. As hinted-at above, the focus at Cow’s End is organic, organic, organic. Whether it’s coffee, tea, smoothies, salads or sandwiches, expect a large variety of wholesome stuff. Since it opens at 6 a.m. and closes at midnight, there’s no reason to go anywhere else. If you need another reason to hang around, Cow’s End also offers free wi-fi, and upstairs you’ll always find a few writers pouring over their screenplays. The only real downside is that service can be a little slow.
