Every neighborhood needs a great coffee shop and Café Collage is that place in Venice. Though a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has recently opened across the street, Café Collage continues to hold its own thanks to the support of its very loyal customers. You’ll often find them lingering for hours at the outdoor tables playing dominos while their dogs sleep at their feet. The menu features a selection of coffee as wide and varied as Starbucks and, unlike Starbucks, most of the food is made to order. Your best bet in the morning is a make-your-own breakfast burrito (you can choose from about a dozen ingredients), while the sandwiches are a good buy at lunch. Fruit smoothies are also available. The atmosphere can be a little frenzied at times and the traffic is usually close and loud, but who really goes to Venice for peace and quiet, right?
