About
Have a gun-slinging contest!
Popular food: 18-oz. porterhouse steak (from 6 a.m.-11 p.m. you can buy this sucker for under 12 bucks, including dessert).
Unique food: Yukon Chili -- order this bad boy by itself (and suffer the consequences) or combine it with your favorites -- eggs, hot dogs, burgers, even spaghetti.
Drinks: Typical soft drinks, shakes and malts, domestic beers.
Seating: Counter seats 15; indoor booths, covered patio with table seating.
Ambience: Loaded with flavor of gold mining lifestyle, with artifacts and pictures; pot belly stove; plenty of windows for people watching, though a steak eater may wish it to be darker during the day.
Extras/Notes: Menu rivals Denny's with the multitude of items, plus two paragraphs outlining the history of the Yukon -- do you know where the river originated? Early-bird dinner specials 3-6 p.m. (otherwise known as seniors' night on the town). Note to management: Why are your waiters clean-shaven and attired in Hawaiian shirts? Come on, this is the Yukon Mining Co.! Let's grow some beards and sport some cracked leather. Throw some peanuts around. Pour beer on a customer's head. It's the Old West!
Parking: Large free lot.
