Size, or rather length, does matter at the Yard House, where beer is doled out in half yards. At any given time, there are 100-250 beers on tap, including brews with some heavy-duty names like Delirium Tremens and Rogue Dead Guy Ale. Clearly, the place attracts its share of testosterone, accommodated by an enormous central bar and plenty of flat screens broadcasting all manner of sport. There are the requisite buffalo wings and nachos, but the menu reaches a broader audience with more serious selections like Bearnaise sliders made with Angus beef, miso Chilean sea bass, and truffled mac and cheese with roasted chicken, applewood smoked bacon, and wild mushrooms. For dessert? What else—a draft beer float: vanilla ice cream with Young’s Chocolate Stout or Lindeman’s Framboise.
