About
International café, clean Scandinavian feel, all organic produce, really fresh!
Popular food: Soup du jour (carrot with avocado is way tasty), salads (often served with edible flower accent); happenin' made-to-order sandwiches.
Unique food: Norwegian meat loaf; Greek salads like you get in Greece; Yugoslavian bell peppers; Genoa salami; Norwegian rice cream with strawberry sauce--Maria's committed to always having a tasty new dish, so check the specials.
Drinks: Gan Bei Elixirs, from Depth Recharger to Virtual Buddha; Italian Torani syrups; espresso; fruit smoothies.
Seating: Round wooden table inside for 20, outside tables for 10.
Ambience: Locals: yoga disciples (Yoga Desa is just 'round the corner to do kundalini before eating), masseuses, neo-hippies, dot.commers and entrepreneurs, filmmakers and visitors.
Extras/Notes: Food in the canyon tends to have island prices. Owner Sigrid Klok (she goes by Maria cuz no one can pronounce her name right), half-Laplander and half-Norwegian, was educated as a farmer in Norway, so that's why all produce is organic. In summer, later hours and entertainment Friday night. Meat, milk, and poultry products are rBST-free.
Parking: Plenty of spaces in Pine Tree Circle lot.
