In spite of cameos on HBO’s “Entourage,” the real star of this scene-to-be-seen coffee shop is its organic coffee and tea selection. Urth Caffe does, after all, have strict standards—all coffee must be certified as 100% organically grown and come from eco-friendly farms that pay their workers fair wages. Along with coffee and tea drinks, Urth offers a menu of fresh salads, sandwiches and pastries to munch on while lounging underneath one of the outdoor patio’s big green umbrellas. Despite the plentiful coffee and tea options on this stretch of Melrose (Dr. Tea’s and Kaffe Wien are nearby), Urth continues to reign. It’s the perfect prelude to some “natural healing” either by way of the neighboring new-age Bodhi Tree Bookstore or CoCo de Mer exotic lingerie boutique.
