This restaurant in the heart of East Hollywood's Thai town serves an impressive array of authentically cooked Thai dishes from hot and sour coconut milk soup to fiery curries to all manner of noodle dishes. They even make kow chai (a.k.a. koo chai), a glutinous pan-fried patty made of rice noodles and Chinese leeks. It makes an excellent appetizer! This divey little joint only takes cash, but Torung stays open until 3 a.m. every day.
