About
The best hangover cure in Long Beach!
Popular food: Breakfast served all day: Maui Omelette or the Frankie's Special for a cholesterol fix -- be sure to order house salsa for the eggs; blueberry french toast; Slider (cheeseburger) or Gardenburger.
Unique Food: Chunky Clunk Omelette with chicken, avocado, cheese and tomato; turkey tacos with beans or potatoes.
Drinks: Coffee, tea, fresh-squeezed juice, sodas.
Seating: Three dining rooms and a small counter.
Ambience: Weekday mornings and early afternoons find plenty of starving artists and blue-collar diners wolfing down stacks of pancakes and bacon, as well as the occasional yuppie munching down on the Chinese chicken salad from the healthy side of the menu.
Extras/Notes: The best thing about this Belmont Heights landmark is the atmosphere, especially at 3 a.m. on a Saturday night! When the clubs close, from Broadway to Second Street, the lonely and the desperate, as well as clumps of tipsy bar hoppers, straggle in for coffee and eggs. T-shirts for sale and lots of history. Bring a photo of yourself holding an "Eat at Potholder" sign shot anywhere in the world and if they frame it on the wall, they'll give you a free breakfast.
Parking: Street.
