Sona's

Not to be mistaken for the fancy-schmancy Sona on La Cienega, Sona’s Restaurant in Encino is anything but. This Sona’s is much more family oriented – and proud of it – with a large, open dining area bustling with local tribes feasting on the expansive menu (this is one of those restaurants where lactose-intolerant Uncle Sam can dine with wheat-allergic Grandma Ruth and oh-so-picky-grandson Rob). Breakfast is served all day – and Sona’s offers more than just the 16 different omelets listed on the menu. Everything from steaks to pastas to sweet potato pancakes (with house made orange cinnamon syrup) is on the menu at this local hangout. There may not be anything fancy about the décor in Chef / Owner Sona Grigorian’s dining room, but you sure can’t say that about the delectable dishes. Going all out? Order the Cinnamon Kiss for dinner – French baguettes dipped in brandy egg batter, sugar, and cinnamon atop a bed of banana walnut saute. Yummy.
