Why is it so hard to find a great bagel in L.A.? One theory blames it on the local water. Whatever the reason, fortunately they can be found. A lot of people swear by the bigger and spiffier Noah's Bagels up the block; we prefer this hole-in-the-wall which carries not much beyond bagels. In addition to a pleasing chewiness, we're particularly impressed with the pumpernickel, arguably the most under-appreciated flavor in the bagel family. But Sam's carries just about any flavor you might crave, including craberry apple.
