 No matter how satisfying the meal, if the dessert and coffee are blah, it throws the whole thing off. Next time, don't risk bland creme brulee or a flat capuccino. Instead, try Palermo for a perfect latte and a scoop of rich gelato. Then, in classic Italian fashion, take an evening ramble, cone and coffee in hand. There are also locally-made chocolates and pastries to choose from. Walking is probably the best option here, since the few outdoor tables available are usually filled. (Oddly enough, the interior is a gift store, featuring a dizzying assortment of pointless tchotchkes, candles, kitchen goodies and more.) With a better assortment of actual desserts than a typical coffeehouse but with the espresso expertise of a coffee-only joint, Palermo is a great place for a dessert date, morning cup of Joe or mid-afternoon sweet.
