About
Three hundred thousand oysters a year meet their fate at Ocean Avenue, which has been a seaside destination for 21 years. Regulars know just how far one can order off the menu—not only will Ocean shuck a dozen oysters over to any restaurant up and down the avenue, should anyone ask, but they’ll also ferry an entrée back from I Cugini or borrow a bottle of sake from Sushi Roku next door. The dining atmosphere ranges from the more informal oyster bar to brocade booths and linen table cloths to the breezy, easygoing patio. Don’t be surprised to find gowns and tuxes at one table and a family in flip flops at the next—all are welcome. Huge, award-winning wine list, including a selection of premium wines by the glass. Reservations recommended.
