If the large-eyed waif in Minibar’s wall mural by Margaret Keane looks forlorn, perhaps it’s because she doesn’t know whether to order the tuna poki or the skewered flatiron steak. A wonderland of chocolate brown and aqua, the mod chic lounge specializes in fusion cuisine of miniature proportions, and there’s a lot to choose from. Make a meal of international small plates such as yucca flour biscuits stuffed with smoked gouda, veal meatballs, or chicken reggae satay along with one of Minibar’s signature mojitos in flavors like mango, pomegranate, and coconut. For dessert, don’t pass up the “don’t harsh my mellow stew,” a rich dark chocolate soup with homemade “marsh-mellows” and almond biscotti. The small-plates theme is repeated in the geometric grid of white plates (resembling polka dots) arranged on the dining room wall. The prices, however, don’t quite comply with the miniature premise.
