Sandwiched between a U-Wash Doggie and Countessa’s Closet, Maki Yaki 2 epitomizes strip-mall sushi fare. With a dozen “granite”-topped tables, the restaurant doesn’t have a sushi bar per se, but there’s an ample selection of acceptable sushi, sashimi, and maki rolls. It’s billed as a Japanese grill, so teriyaki plates, BBQ chicken, and tempura stand out as some of the best selections. Though the servers’ English skills may be in need of some polishing, the bright wall menu accompanied by pictures of the food helps make ordering easier.
